Haha! It's another image of common cosplay faux pas! Oh, Ichigo, why can't a single person cosplay you well? Truly, I've never seen a single good, accurate cosplay portrayal of Ichigo. A most common offender is the one I affectionately call Afrogo. Guys, it's not hard to mimic Ichigo's hair. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was intentionally designed to look average. All you need to do is grow your hair out to about three or four inches, spike it with a light mousse, and color it orange if needed. Done! Bingo! Ichigo's hairstyle! Still, everyone insists on getting an oversized, blazing orange wig that makes them look like Ronald McDonald in shinigami gear. I don't understand it. Well, Afrogo's main attribute is obviously his laughable hair, but he may also likely: 1)have a squishy face 2)have a pot-belly 3)be a chick 4)wear a frayed, I-just-didn't-sew-anything, homemade outfit 5)wear something more akin to a skirt than a hakama 6)have a large sword crafted from a refrigerator box 7)carry paraphernalia from other anime series (which I feel a little less offensive since you want to buy stuff at conventions) 8)wear sneakers.

Also be on thelook out for Afrogo in the lackluster spring uniform version (Wendy's hamburger sold separately)!

Shinigami gear? Are you sure that's what you meant to say? Anyway.. when are you gonna post your rendition of Sipes? If you don't think my drawing looks that much like him then color him so that it does! (challenge'd)

I do not support such behavior.

LAME, but this guy is totally my fav over the Zoro...well i am not sure. Margeaux u are horrible, I cant help but make fun of cosplayers now, you've done this to me. A smile to my face and hot tears down my face is what this image brings, before u mentioned it was a bout to say maybe a girl could cosplay ichigo better, who knows, i was just thinkin even the effemanate bishonen's in bleach still look like guys compared to Togashi and some other mangaka who seem to take pleasure in confusion of gajin readers like us, hmmm, but i think the fro is a bit to far, lol, i am sure we will see lots of good ichigo cosplayers at otakon...i can only see it now (i wont be able to enjoy the con now that you've awakened my inner bad cosplay heckler!! or maybe i will enjoy it even more but for all the wrong reasons!! I am sure that was ur intention all along) did you just use watercolor and ink for this? oh i think i can see 2 different pens, ah i need to bring my nice water colors to work so i can get strokes like that again, I'm getting used to the destroyed brushes and crayola water color kids at the art center now. bleck

"Well, don't you worry, baby boo
You'll always have an angry gorilla to be angry with you
That's what I do. Just ask Donkey Kong. He's in my crew"

Aren't you doing essentially the same thing, only against nameless, unaware innocents? I really don't see a difference between the two. We're both equally guilty. Sounds like this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

i always loved that quote. she is making fun of their costumes not necessarily them as human beings, ability to realize you are a lackluster cosplayer or unfit to role a specific character isn't that difficult, the background of the sipes cartoons is slightly darker from my perspective. eh but i dont really think what u did was bad. ^__^

To me, this series (or at least it's becoming that way) of cosplay images is more of a comment on the entire subculture of American anime fandom than it is racking down on an individual. Both the Zoro and the Ichigo are more conglomerates of stereotypes than a caricature of a particular person. I like these pictures, too, because it's a way for me to express the observations I've had at cons. To me, it would be the same thing if you were in a yacht club and painted the ocean.

"The hot tears I cry, fall down and wet my necktie!" --the sagacious Leorio. I particularly like Afrogo's mutton chops and the fact that he's reading Eyeshield 21. You can spot a picture of Hiruma on the back cover.

a yacht club is no where near as funny.
